Lesley is tired.

This is what I have been up to for the past week.

Mon: School, work, 4hrs sleep,
Tues: School, work, 5hrs sleep,
Wed: School,
Thurs: School, work,
Fri: Work, 4am korean food and soju session, 5hrs sleep,
Sat: Lunch, dinner, clubbing, 4am supper, sleep at 6am
Sun: School at 12pm (print notes)

I am so exhausted. Actually I could have joined Kim at the International Festival in Darling Harbour today but I could not wake up for it and besides I need to go to college to print my notes.

I am having a very bad start to Term 7 because I just missed out on the first discussion board and each board is worth 5%.

Oh yeah. I was obviously not focusing on college in the first week as I was swamped with work and outings.

However, I believe I will get on top of things again next week because I am only working on Friday.

Here are some pics from Billy and my cellphone.

In front of Min Young To. Grace, Bonnie, the AV guys and a bunch others had already left. Dunno whose idea is it to pose with V signs.

Egan was fucking choking me ok! Break his small head.
Why the hell am I standing like that?
I was red with soju -_-

This is while we were waiting for Grace they all in front of Westin.
Slaps Ho-In!

Christy, Jasmine and Jenny!

I am gonna miss Billy and Egan soooo much! Sucks to lose people whom you click with easily :(

I have cool lecturers :)

At least half of them.

I took Introduction to HR back in Term 5 and my lecturer was this androgynous looking lady. She's a nice person BUT! She ain't good in teaching. The whole unit was soo boring and the students could not relate to what she is trying to say.

However, now I'm taking HR Planning and Performance. It's actually a Term 8 subject but whatever. I still have to take it anyway to finish my degree. My lecturer is this French guy. He is quirky/funny and most importantly, he is able to explain HR theory and give examples that makes sense.

FINALLY!

I was actually dreading this unit because in my head, I was thinking 'God! Not another HR bullshit. I bet it's the same things except that we need to write 5000 words instead of 3000 words'.

I was partially wrong. We have presentation now. Fuck.

Of 4 units, 2 units require presentations :((((

In HR, we are required to do a 10-15 minutes individual presentation.
In International Events, students need to do a 30-45 mins individual presentation during the course and a final 1 hour group presentation to the Newcastle Council at the end of the course.

WHATTT!!! I know. What am I supposed to talk about for 30 mins? Myself? WTF

Oh yeah back to my lecturers. He has a really thick French accent and that forces me to pay extra attention in order to understand what he is saying. He told us he has been in Australia for 12 years and since his accent is still present after 12 years, it is very unlikely that he will lose it in the coming 3 months haha!

As for Statistics, we have Doug Taylor. He's an old man who wants us to call him either Doug, Douggie, Uncle Doug or Douggie Boy.

And he wants us to include 2-3 jokes per assignment required. So now our mission is to find jokes instead of finishing the assignments wtf.

He doesn't require us to reference our assignments which is SUPER SUPER AWESOME!!

And this is why he is cool in my books.

For Finance, we have this tall supermodel looking lady but from far. That she looks like amodel from far but close up, she's a just a lecturer. At the moment, she is so-so. Haven't really shown her personality yet but she's a good lecturer so far.

For my International Events, the head of Event Management Program is actually my lecturer. So she is the top of top which means extra pressure :(

But she's very knowledgeable and always gives us tips and interesting facts. I guess it helps :p

Now Week 1 is over which means it's time to study hard! My 30 mins presentation and 1500 words report is due in Week 5. Epps!!

******

I feel bad for Kevin, the new Korean guy from ICMS.

Samuel, Sien and Natalie are all friendly or at least open to conversation but Kevin just closes everyone out.

Everyone is questioning why he is hired in the first place. It's one thing that his English is average but so do most of the Koreans here. Grace told us we all need to tell Kevin his task as well as make hand gestures/signs to illustrate your message.

He doesn't want to talk to anyone and one time, Egan gently touched Kevin's arm because he needs to go through. Kevin responded with a 'Next time, don't touch me'. I was like 'Wow :O'

I don't know what's gonna happen to him but we'll see.

This is sorta related haha but Kevin was floater on Tues night and he had to put clean glasses at Station 8. We had already placed a few empty glass racks for him but fear that he wouldn't know. So I suggest that we write 'clean glasses' in Korean so he can read.

Ho-In was fucking taking his sweet time when I told him to write it down. Then Alkis told me he'll write it. I refused to give him the pen. He snatched the pen from me and wrote 'CREAN GRASSES'.

Can't wait for Hurricane's Ribs on the weekend!! :))

Packed like a sardine can.

I am going back to college y'all. Shucks but oh well, Lesley's gotta get that piece of paper.

And I have 4 shifts as well, opps.

Initially I have 5 ok! Then I got my final timetable and quickly told Tiwa to change it. So my Wed shift was allocated to someone else.

I think Tiwa likes Olivia, Michelle and I. Because we were the only girls getting 5 shifts whereas the rest have 3-4.

Which is totally cool with me. More moolah for me. But as I am going back to college tomorrow, the maximum I can do is 2-3 shifts per week.

And btw, I told my supervisor I am resigning from Frasers. He told me to wait for him coz he's going to resign too hahah! The weekend chef is going to quit as well.

Frasers is the place where I usually work when I need some quick cash because I get paid every week instead of a fortnight. But as of lately, I have mentally checked out on Frasers. I just do not want to be there anymore.

I'm a casual and most of the time I am not available when they need someone the most. I mean what's the point of having a casual when she is always not available.

As I am taking up more new activities, I think I will not have time at all to work in Frasers so it is best that I resign. Westin will be the sole source of my income now.

It feels kinda scary to lose a job but then I figure it's for the best. I might even find a new or a better job.

********

Westin is getting pretty busy right now and it's been a week since the Mikey Choi left :'(

It feels weird not having him push me around (he always does - smack my arm, pull my ponytail, all kinds of shit) and then David is quitting too. He got a job in the government sector? I think. He said his job is doing research on immigration laws or something.

Billy and Egan are going back to the mountains as well!! So sad....I have no one to talk crap with now :((

So as a farewell thing, we plan to have ribs in Bondi and get wasted throughout the night. The guys wouldn't believe that I can finish a full rack and they say, if I can finish it, they will pay for my ribs. The deal is SO ON!

We took a family photo on Mikey's last day. Spot me.

We are having 4 more new people joining us. They start next week I think. Again, I'm kinda excited to meet them :)

********

Call this fated or whatever but yesterday after ironing, I saw this book on the bookshelf where I replace my iron.

Usually I wouldn't even care but it caught my eye. Coz it was red. Seriously, all the books should be red so I will read them wtf.

It's called 'Love is Not Enough: A Smart Woman's Guide to Making and Keeping Money'.

Here is a short sypnosis:

Let's face it! Prince Charming and his bank balance, just aren't coming to bail us out financially. 'Love Is Not Enough' -- the definitive lifestyle, financial bible for sassy women -- will teach you not to care, and show you how to face the future with security and know-how. From shopping sprees to pension plans, ISAs to investments, money plays a crucial role in our present and future comfort. If we want to secure our futures we're going to have to do it ourselves. The good news is that it's not hard to do.

Combining years of financial expertise with a healthy dose of scepticism and an easy sense of humour, Merryn Somerset Webb's sharp, witty and appealing guide to personal wealth for sassy women provides the answers. Whether you're drowning in debt, negotiating a higher salary or tackling the thorny issue of a pre-nup, just one read through and you'll be in a position to sort your finances out for good, transforming them from a constant worry into a source of peace of mind.

I copied from Amazon and deleted unnecessary details.

This is witty and interesting, I just couldn't put down the book the minute I started reading. It was easy and very well-categorised so that reading is a breeze.

My sister always say I'm a very money-minded person. But I think of it as protecting my own interest. I work hard, think of ways to save money, hardly splurge (relative ok!) and constantly think of ideas that I can invest in.

I'm not that kind of person who will fight with you over 5 cents. That is petty. Another reason is that my father gave me the best advice anyone can give: Always be financially independent as a woman and you will have all the freedom in the world.

And this book resonates with my father's advice. As I was reading the book, it made me reflect back on all my shopping habits and I can definitely relate to all that is discussed in the book.

Today, I went out to get stuff like my books and etc. I saw so many retail stores having massive sales. I was really tempted to buy something because IT'S ON SALE!

Then I remembered the book. All in all, I think I did pretty well because all that I bought was a magazine and a green tea frapuccino for myself. Which is $10 spent on unnecessary items.

Have you ever went out with let's say $50 and by the end of the day, you are left penniless and with nothing to show for it? Exactly. That is where all your money went. To stuffs like gum, candies, magazines, the occasional cold drink, whatever.

Girls, you must get yourself a copy and trust me, it's going to be a real eye-opener :)

Lauren tells the future.

Sorta.

Westin is currently running the Associate Renewal Week where they offer massages, nail treatments, reflexology, tarot reading and etc for free.

I obviously signed up for the tarot reading.

Lauren is the name for my clairvoyant.

The minute I sat down, she told me 'something' tapped her on the shoulders and she asked if I am close to anyone in particular who has passed on. I was like 'No..?'.

Picked 13 cards and this is what she told me:

1) I give a lot and must learn to take.
2) I must find a balance within myself in order to advance forward.
3) I must be very clear on which direction I am going to take in the coming future. Because the card 'wheel of fortune' was present, she sees a sudden 'event' that will change everything and says if I do not have a direction, the universe will just throw me whatever that is out there.
4) She feels nostalgia. Someone from my past will come back to help me.
5) She foresees me doing something in business because that's what my field of expertise is supposedly. She says I need to surround myself with women that are similar to me. She also sees me involve in some sort of activity one year from now (which coincides with my graduation).
6) She also says that a few projects in line for me and that I should go ahead with it.
7) I need to take some time off for myself.
8) She also sees rebirth and the signs of new beginning.

Ok. Let's run through that. I believe most of what she says is pretty general. Like it would apply to most of the public.

However, she is accurate about part where she says I have few things that I plan to take up and about me giving too much. I mean every fortune teller/ palm reader/ face reader/ whatever reader says the same thing about me.

And then, I was told to pick another 3 cards. I got 'Death and Rebirth', 'Useable energy' and 'Unlimited Vision'.

Lauren explains that in order to be successful with new projects I need to drop whatever is in the past and I need to utilise the people/connections around me and just believe in my visions for myself.

Seriously? Very general. I didn't really get much from that.

After that, I was to pick another 3 cards. This time, it was Wolf, Spider and Swan. Wolf corresponds to the 'death and rebirth' card which signifies new beginnings. Spider is about opportunities and of course it links back to useable energy and finally Swan. Swan means trust. So I need to trust my unlimited visions.

Ok.

Finally, she told me to pick another 3 cards which are 'messages from the angels'.

1) Relationship. Nope, it's not about me getting a bf. It's relationship with myself and relationship with God. I need to get this right before I can afford to have another different kind of relationship.
2) Perfect timing. She says this is the perfect timing to launch whatever plans I have in mind because I have all the opportunities and help around me.
3) Fresh air. Taking time and refreshing myself. Very random and is kinda repetitive.

Overall, I did not get much from this reading. But it has certainly got me interested in going for more readings to see if it is consistent.

And I also wonder who's watching over me as I have not been particularly close to anyone who passed on.

*shrugs*

I have my new timetable already guys!! And it is not so good :(

It is better today as I went to school at 7am to change it!

Mon: 8am (HR Planning), 12pm (Finance), 2pm (Events)
Tues: 10am (HR Planning), 12pm (Finance)
Wed: 10am ( Events), 3pm (Statistics)
Thu: 8am (Statistics)
Fri-Sun: OFF!

I mean if I have my timetable from Monday, I would have change Mon 8am class to 10am then Mon will have no gap and change Wed 3pm class to either 8am or 12pm and there would be no gap too!

I could only change Tue 8am to 10am because all the other classes are full!

Damn pekchek lor!

Ahh!!!

Life.

I'm a time bomb waiting to explode anytime soon.

Today, I experienced the strongest frustration possible. I cannot for the life of me figure out why is it that such a big institution cannot get their timetables right.

No words can describe the anger and the helplessness I felt when I realise there is seriously nothing I can do to fix this shit by today.

I mean, the minute I encountered that problem, I immediately made my way to the college to look for Student Services.

They say it's IT problem. Ok. I went to look for the IT guy and he was so helpful. From him, I found out that I am in fact not enrolled in the degree program and have 'graduated'.

Off I go to Student Services. The lady told me I need to fill in a form to go on to the degree program. I mean like wtf.

You send me the invoice for the third year and I have fulfilled all the requirements to move on to the bachelor program. And you didn't enrol me?

Fuck!

I was close to tears at SS ok.

I was contemplating quitting ICMS and moving on to another place in Sydney.

Anyways, I have already send in my form and they say I'll receive an email by Wed which I know I will not. If this problem is not fixed by next Monday, then fuck it. I might just really quit.

************

Moving on to happier things like shopping and eating.

Yesterday, Grace and I and the Indon group went to have Indonesian food in Kingsford of course. Their fish cake thingy is so yummy!! I will go back again by myself wtf.

After Egan, Christy went to work, Grace and I went shopping around. We walked by QVB and she decided to check out some BB cream from Missha. I saw this BB Boomer.

So this boomer thingy is like a base for BB cream. You apply it before ur BB cream and it helps ur BB cream to adhere better and stay longer.

This morning, I was in a rush so I decided to just put on the boomer and surprisingly, I think it makes my face looks healthier without any makeup at all.

I bought that along with another crayon lipstick. But it's magenta pink this time.

She bought herself a BB cream and some pore minimising cream.

Then we head to Myers and there I found the creamiest eye cream ever. Kiehl's Eye Treatment with Avocado. Damn! It's like 52 bucks for a small small bottle.

Grace's mum is going to HK soon so I'll get her mum to buy me one from there. It will be cheaper.

Not bragging or anything but people have always asked what brand of skincare I use. The truth is I do not stick to any particular one. I tried but then one item usually finishes earlier than the rest and I tend to replace that with a completely different brand.

As a result, I end up with 4 different brands of skincare products. Right now, I am using cleanser and night moisturizer from Lancome, eye cream from Body Shop, face softener from Shiseido and day cream/sunscreen from Kiehl's.

Some people have to stick to one brand but for me, my skin is at its best when I use something new on it. Therefore, I have to constantly change the products I am using. Otherwise, my skin gets accustomed to the products and whatever I put on my face is not helping.

Wow..that was a totally different story there hahah.

OMG. Grace just texted me telling me the pore minimiser is good coz her face is less oily now wtf -_-''

So back to shopping, I also came across this make-up brand named Two-faced and they have this brilliant eyeshadow boxes that comes with a palette of colours and a few cards teaching you how to achieve the right makeup using the palette in front of you. Each box is $60! Next paycheck la.

They have one box for Smokey Eyes, one for Natural Eyes and one for Naked Eyes. So tempting!!

Freaking hell. Since when am I such a make-up junkie.

I tried to clean out my makeup pouch the other day and ended up throwing just one item. A silver eye liner.

Help!

P/S: CoverGirl Lash Blast Volume mascara is really good :)

********

So you guys seen our new manager right. The young guy named David.

Anyway, last night we have this VIP event - the AHA awards. We have way more than the usual number of people working because it is VIP wtf.

I was assigned one table by myself (WTF!) which may or may not be occupied and to float during entree and mains. Although most of the times I complain about the heavy plates during mains, I actually prefer doing it rather than float.

Floating is so boring. Then David told me I will be his 'second pair of eyes'. I was like yeah, sure.

I was standing near my table waiting for the door to open. Then David came up to me and reminded me again I'll be his 2nd pair of eyes. Then it was all downhilll from there.

David: Lesley, you'll be helping me supervise today ok.
Me: yeah sure.
David: What's the colour of your eyes?
Me: *stunned*
David: Lesley, what's the colour of your eyes?
Me: Hahaha....brown? Hahahahha!!

I seriously facepalm in front of him and LOL-ed.

David: Good. I have blue eyes.
Me: BWAHAHAHHAHA!!!
Me: Yeah sure of course.

I kept on replaying his question in my head and it certainly helps coz I smile so much more at the guests and it comes so naturally.

Lord!!

I am certainly looking forward to working more with him in the future to see what he'll come up with next.

Ok..gonna eat dinner now. Nites!

Scrambled brain.

I am so bored my brain is rotting away even more!

From Monday til today, all I did was sleep, eat, surf the net and watch movies. I rewatch Avatar last night but in 3D this time. Yeah, it was cool. Despicable Me opened today and is choooooo cute!

The 3 lil girls make me wish they were my kids.

But tomorrow will be hell. Coz I can't sleep before the clock strikes 4am. Which sucks coz I need to wake at 5am tomorrow for work. And I will not finish working until let's say 10pm?

So.....16 hours of work, bring it bitch!

I also got my roster for next week already. 4 shifts...!! While most of them have 2-3 shifts muahhaha!!! I'm so evil.

That's because I told Tiwa I'm very free ma...but the roster is really good because I am working from Tues to Fri. And it leaves Sat and Sun for me to prepare for Term 7.

Gotta get that blazer dry-cleaned, iron my uniform, new shoes, new stationery, new books and such.

Ahhh...life is good. I hope we get to choose our timetable soon.

Btw, I have already enrolled in Sydney University (2 bus stops away from my apartment) for Applied Language in Korean 101 (Beginner). The classes will be on every Sat 1pm-3pm. WHich is perfect coz I finish work at 12pm every Sat then I can change and go to class. After class, I can either continue working if there is another shift in Westin or I can chill for the rest of the day.

Although I have not received my timetable for Term 7 in ICMS yet, I know it's not going to clash with any units because ICMS has no class on the weekends.

Awesome.

And I have also found another place which offers Korean course but a level higher. Which is what I would need to take once I finish my beginner's course in Syd Uni. And TAFE NSW offers that! The best part? Their Ultimo Branch is 5 minutes walk away from my apartment :))

Seriously I fucking love my apartment.

And it's pretty cheap too. Syd Uni cost $250 for 10 weeks (2 hrs per week) and TAFE offers the Korean Cert II course for 18 weeks (4 hrs per week) for $230.

So? Must take lar!

UNSW also offers the Korean Language course but it is slightly more expensive and it goes for 9 weeks and the campus is pretty far. Syd Uni it is!

So excited!! I have plenty of things/projects I want to start in my last year here. And hopefully things will go smoothly or at least not too far from my initial plans :))

Good night peeps!

The biggest farewell ever.

The banquets team decided to have this combined farewell for Tania, Mikey, Hiroka and Kelfien at Braza. It's a Brazilian restaurant that serves BBQ.

My previous roomie works there but I did not see her tonight. Instead I saw my other flatmate, Carol. The one that just moved in.

We had 2 huge tables and the waiters started to come in with huge skewers of different kind of meats. And dinner starts!

We have Michelle, Bhavisha and Jorge. Michelle is just the sweetest nicest kindest girl ever. And Bhavisha is loads of fun :) Very easy to talk to.

The Mikey Choi! His hair damn WTF today.
Piglet!! That is Kar btw. He looks like Piglet right! When he smiles, omg! 100% equal to Piglet ah. Then we have Eray and Slav.

This is George or Riley or White Asian Boy. I swear to God he is so Asian. And funny :)
This is Adam and his fiancee Jamie. And on the right, we have David Alexander, our new manager who's taking over Tania for a year. So young right. He's only 25-26.
The 2 prettiest girls in banquets - Hiroka and Jenny.
Olivia who's another Korena girl. Very nice and pretty and we have Tiwa. My new fav assistant manager who always gives me shifts :))
Said skewers.
Ryan opa.
Joey, Hiroka and Jenny.
Grace holding a pic of Tania's rotund figure.

His head damn big and his stupid hands make me look like I have no teeth wtf.

Pan cool meh. Tiu hahah.
I never knew he smokes!

Jacqueline.

White Asian Boy trying to feed Billy some awesome grilled cheese.

The table has a few of these thingy. With red on top, it means to tell the waiter to stop coming with food coz you're full and vice versa. Before we even started eating, Mikey already this in front of me saying 'Lesley, you don't have to eat'. WTF
The whole lot of people.
George and one of his one thousand faces.

The guy in white is Chef Felix.

Guy in middle is Choi Ho-In. He's damn funny one! And he's very non-chalant about everything. Chilled out and no stress. He's the exact kind of guy you'll find in a typical Korean high school.

Myling and I. She's drunk a lot.
Apollo stoning.

Wow...so damn long wei! Now I'm pretty sure you know every single person working in banquets with me.

I was supposed to be working only on Fri morning and Sun afternoon. But Tiwa asked if I could work on Fri afternoon so I said yeah. Woots!!
