Highs and Lows.

You know this week I was so fucked. I had HR presentation due on Tues and my whole Monday night was preparing the slides. Stats assignment due on Wed and the whole Tues afternoon and night was spent on it.

Eh. Actually doesn't sounds too bad now. Maybe I'm just being a drama queen.

But the two days were terrible. I think it's because I only got a Pass for both my assignments :(((

The first Stats assignment was just a pass and my EVT321 presentation was a pass as well because I didn't really 'answer' the question. I had a talk with the lecturer and the things she told me was entirely different from what I had in mind. So...back to square one. I might have to make a trip to Newcastle.

Oh well. Shit happens wtf.

******

Speaking of shit, I have been working in Heritage Ballroom for 5 times in a row. And if you know Heritage Ballroom, trust me you don't want to work there.

Not because it's creepy at night, it's actually better than Level 4.

But because of the looooooooong walk you have to take while serving mains. Bitch.

And the mains damn heavy one!

The first 2 shifts when I found out I was working in HB, I was so pissed. But after the 3rd time, I was like I'm over this shit.

It actually didn't feel too bad after a while coz you just get use to the 'pain' already wtf. We did dinners for Fitness First, the Concord Hospital etc etc.

In FF, they gave out awards for people who lost tremendous weight and their heartbreaking stories.

A particular middle aged lady at my table was one of them. She lost her husband and 6 months later was diagnosed with breast cancer. Although she survived, she gained a lot of weight and was determined to lose it all.

She says that being fit in the gym has brought 'favourable' results in the bedroom. The whole room laughed. And when she accepted her prize, upon prodding by the MC, thanked her 'friend from the bedroom' which was the older guy she was with on my table. WTF

AND AND AND AND! She also won the final prize of $30,000!! I guess that night she and her 'friend' will be having lotsa fun in the bedroom wtf!

As for the hospital dinner, it was awards as well. They gave out awards for best interns, best regulators, best etc etc. I dunno why but these people were just annoying.

They weren't rowdy, didn't drink that much coz 50% of them are Asian (doctors. pfft! no offense wtf). But they talk A LOT of shit.

Maybe it's their workload or lifestyle that they don't get to socialise very often but c'mon!

When your food is served, please finish eating so I can clear and bring your next course. The dinner is 5 hours long but we have a set time on when your courses are to be served. We cannot wait for you to finish chatting and keep asking you the same question 'Are you finished?' 50 times.

I hate those people who insist on keeping their entree because they leave their last bite of food on the plate for 20 minutes and then when you bring their mains, they pass their entree plates to you on the spot in exchange for the next course.

This is what I do to them. While they are so engrossed in talking about world peace, whatever shit are they discussing, I quickly swooped in, take their plates and piled all the dirty leftover food on top of it. 5 secs later, they realised their plates are gone. They turned around and I was like 'Opps! Sorry! *inserts fake apologetic face*'.

No...we are not stupid. That was on purpose.

On another note, we always have a briefing before a function starts. It has always been one of the areas that banquets is trying to improve because not everyone is paying attention and it irks the manager and leaders.

Since David came into power, he has been trying to implement different ways of briefing and etc.

So last night during the briefing, David was present with us. Adam was blah blah blah same thing. Everything was relaxed and easy breezy, joking around. Myling and I were at the back sorta talking but not in that loud obnoxious way.

David was behind me. I thought he was just listening to Adam. Little did I know he was actually making notes about the briefing!

After we disperse, he and Adam were in the office. Then Adam pulled Myling and I aside. He told us that David noticed that during the entire briefing he though we were not paying attention and were talking.

I'm like well we weren't exactly talking about other stuffs, it was abt the function and it's not like we are not listening. Adam replied hat he knows we can do our job and he doesn't mind it very much but just in future case, we shud be aware of who is in our surroundings before acting.

So cunning man......stand behind me and then complain wtf.

I don't hate David la. Just that it makes me very very cautious now if he is around me.
*******

Going out for movies with Yash and George later. Saw 7 in 3D! OMG!

Why did I say YES?

And happier news, I got a HD in my online discussions :)

I too received an email from the Academic Centre in college asking for my help in the tutoring program. They say I have HD in Managerial Accounting and Business Economics last term so they want me to help students who needs extra support in those subs.

Wah!!!! Damn self-esteem booster ok!

Too bad, I probably forgot all of them already wtf.

But I said yes becoz I still have all the notes. It shouldn't be too hard tho.

The highs and lows of my life. Sigh.

Pelanting.

I had my Finance mid-term today and I only started studying yesterday afternoon.

The test was aiya, pelanting wtf.

Only in some of the techniques part. Finance is divided into elements and techniques. Elements being the theory part and techniques being the calculations.

I have never ever ever ever ever (con't 1000x ) revised the textbook before because everytime I try, I just find the task of scrubbing the toilet floors much more important. Like really important - life death situation.

So I was forced to spend the whole of Sunday on the couch flipping through the Finance textbook cramming all the information into my head.

It was raining the whole Sunday anyway. No loss.

The thing is I concentrated too much on elements (becoz there is just TOO much to learn for elements) that I forgot abt the techniques.

I mean, we get to do practice questions in tutorials all the time and I never skip that class. It's just like maths.

Today, I went to school feeling pretty confident about the test until I sat for the paper wtf. The theory part was alright however there were 2 questions on techniques that I just have no idea on.

That damn timeline! I always have a hard time figuring out where to divide the periods in the timeline.

So I just agak agak wtf. 9 out of 10, it will be wrong. At least I tried.

Anyway, the best part of the day comes from a Facebook message from my Events lecturer informing us that class is cancelled (YES!) due to illness.

So I got home early to start on my HR presentation powerpoint. I think my powerpoint damn pretty one. I used the same Westin font colour and flower on their website as a template for my slides.

Looks so clean and refreshing :))

Relax, renew, rejuvenate wtf

And for my presentation, I had to interview David, our new manager and Chef Walter.

*off-topic*

I found out the 60 yr old man I have a crush on has a daughter and son. His wife is also Malaysian so I guess this is why he treats me so nice. He's German btw. I always thought he was Aussie or American.

His son is 24 (jeng jeng jeng!) and is currently in Brisbane. Why not in Sydney? Eh..maybe handsome kali-ah..... Mixed blood summore. Actually I dunno. I dun dare to ask.

*back to topic*

I got a lot of information from David and Chef Walter and I hope it is what my lecturer wants coz I don't want him to step on me with his French accent wtf.

Have I told you how awesome my French lecturer is? I think I did but here it goes again.

I believed most people would have come across the Maslow theory in uni.

We were always taught that there are 5 levels in a person's life that need to be satisfied and the lowest level has to be satisfied before moving on to the higher ones.

We have always taken it as what it is, as what the lecturer told us.

But Jean-Ettienne told us Maslow is bullshit. HAH!

See! This is why he is so cool like a cucumber wtf.

He said Maslow only applies to beings that has no choice. It applies to dogs, cats, animals. Let's say you lock up a dog and deprive it of food for 3 days. On the 3rd day, you put a bowl of food in the corner and released the dog. The dog will run to the food coz it is hungry.

But for we human, will you run to the food? NO! You will think of a way to escape this psychopath and seek safety. And this is why Maslow is bullshit.

I wanna be more like my HR lecturer <3 wtf

But it kinda wtf as well coz we have been learning Maslow for like 3 terms just to have him tell us that it was all crap -_-''

********

I went back to cooking again :)))

The other day I was looking at the ingredients I have in the pantry and decided it was pasta day wtf (diet of a poor student). Actually no, I get to eat 5-star meals for $3 at work but if I eat that everyday, I will die of obesity which will be in no time :(

I had pasta, meatballs and mushroom. I shall make my own mushroom sauce!!!

Google 'mushroom sauce' oh what would I do without you Google.

And picked the easiest one. I hate the ones where you have to blend the onion/ginger/herbs/ whatever shit and ingredients that I do not see over the Coles spices aisle wtf.

How To Make Your Own Mushroom Sauce

170g of sliced button mushroom
20g of butter
1/2 tablespoon of flour
250ml of milk (full cream/skim)
olive oil
salt and pepper

1) Heat olive oil and melt butter in it
2) Add mushroom and cook until brown (it has to be like sorta burned but not really)
3) Remove pan from heat.
4) Add milk and flour. Stir continuously.
5) Return pan to heat and heat over low fire for about 3 minutes. Cook until it thickens.
6) S & P to taste.
7) Serve.

See, how easy that was.

I did use more butter and milk (in my defense, I used skim) than what was required and I added garlic powder too.

I hate garlic cloves but I love garlic powder. It makes food taste so much better.

Again, these are just estimates. You'll know what extras need to be added when you're cooking. If it's too thick, add more milk and etc.

Cook your pasta al dente. Oven baked your meatballs and served with the awesome mushroom sauce you made.

A perfect lunch!

Oh! And if you're the healthy type, you can add fresh raw vegies to it too but not me! HAHHAHA wtf -_-

I have also been making smoothies too. As a diet but I haven't been losing weight coz I am eating other stuffs too hahhha! Fail.

After using a wide range of fresh fruits/frozen fruits, yoghurt, milk, I have concluded that the best fruits to make a smoothie are MANGO and BERRIES! Bananas are alright but I'm not a big fan of them.

The best yoghurt is Greek yoghurt coz it is low in fat and high in protein or calcium I forgot. Best milk is undecided between rice milk/soy milk and skim milk.

I have been eating home a lot and out a lot so yeah >.>

*******

Last Sat night, I was working in the Heritage Ballroom (again! hmph!) for a wedding (again! fts!).

But this time, the bride and groom are so much more good-looking. They are both only 28 and the bride is a pharmacist coz they spoke about meeting in a pharmacy school in Paris or something like that.

The bride's side comes from Singapore I believe and the groom is probably from Australia. The bride is Chinese and the groom is mixed! His dad is white and his mum is Chinese too I believe.

Anyway, after the event wrapped, we did set-up and signed off at 3am. Natalie and I was waiting at the hotel front for a taxi but there were none.

While waiting, we saw the groom's brother walking with a tall gorgeous Indian lady towards the hotel. We were like 'I didn't see her at the wedding dinner' and quickly assumed that he probably picked her up from some bar.

While they were waiting for taxi too, they started making out like seriously, no I cannot keep my tongue out of your mouth for one sec wtf.

Although you always see this in movies and don't give two hoots abt it, it's pretty distracting when they are just in front of you.

Thank God, they stopped after like 5 mins (aren't their mouths tired??) wtf and walked off. The guy went back to the hotel 2 mins later and probably left the lady somewhere.

Sigh..playboy ey. Maybe guys with mixed blood are not so good afterall *refers above*.

OMG! This is the longest post I have done in a very long time. Becoz I do not want to do Stats assignment.

Good night!

You will not believe this..

but I have a crush on a 60 year old man.

WHAT!

NUH-UH! NOOOOOO... SHE DIDN'T!

YA, SHE DID.

He is 60 for God's sake.

But after asking like 3 people, I am getting clearer on this.

Yes, I have a crush on him.

As a father figure.

Wow..totally dramatic ey. Tsk.

My shoes has arrived!!!!

I'm picking them up tomorrow after school :))

Goodies!!!

The previous week, Westin hosted a function for the McGrath Foundation. If you do not know what that is, just go to your nearest Coles and look for the Mount Franklin bottle with pink cap.

Pink - breast cancer awareness - Oct. Hello.

The foundation organised this High Tea party for their VIPs I guess. I didn't work in that function (thank GOD!) coz everyone who worked nearly died.

It was so packed and tight and the timings, boy. If you are behind by 5mins, the whole function is ruined.

And I'm a slow person.

Anyway, my point is not the high tea. It's the goodies bag let behind by the foundation. They were supposed to be for the guests but clearly, there were a few extra bags.

Thus, we each get a bag! They included the Mindfood magazine, MD Formulation face cream, PearlDrops teeth whitener, shopping vouchers, a bottle of Mount Franklin (duh!), a small bottle of German champagne (blergh...), shampoo, chocolate bar and all the girlie stuffs!

Just want to show off my goodie bag :)

********

I had a dream.

In my dream, I was back home in the old house. My 3 siblings and I were sleeping together in my bedroom.

Before, the 4 of us used to sleep in one room. There were 2 single beds and a bunkbed,

In my dream, I was sleeping on the top bed and looked down. My mum is sharing the lower bed with someone else. The room was slightly illuminated by the lights seeping through the curtain.

I'm guessing we're all taking a afternoon nap.

Suddenly, the door opened. In walked a little girl about 2 years old. She looked exactly like me when I was young with the same chinadoll haircut summore.

She was looking for my mum. My mum woke up and lifted the blankie. Appeared a little baby boy no more than 6 months who is a splitting image of my bros.

You see in my family, both my bros look exactly like each other when they were young. And my sis and I do look similar but there is a slight difference.

Now! When I saw these two kids, I was like 'WTF! Since when did the Woon clan went up to six?'

I woke my sis up and asked her. She was like 'yeah...don't you know since you were in Sydney, Mummy gave birth to another 2 kids?'

My jaw dropped! Then I asked what's the little girl's name.

My sis said it was Katherine Taylor. I didn't think too much about it coz we all have 2 English names. But I thought it sounded very 'mature'. At the same time, there was another name at the back of my head.

I replied 'Really? I thought her name was Beverly Jane'.

Now that I think abt it, Beverly Jane is more 'modern' in a way but it reminds me of porn star name wtf.

For example - BEVERLY JANE! The innocent girl next door but is she?? *winks*
Because you know Jane is usually the name of someone who's innocent and ordinary while Beverly conjures up images of Beverly Hills and glam spots where all the magic happens wtf.

Plus, Beverly Jane's initial is BJ. Blowjobs. No good. Nuh-uh.

Katherine Taylor sounds good to me. Can be abbreviated to KT/Katie. Very suitable. So in the future, when I adopt a baby girl, she will be named Katherine Taylor.

However, I did not get the boy's name :((

He was still a baby tho.

Man, I swear to God it felt so real ok! I was seriously convinced that I have an additional 2 siblings.

Yeah...so random.

An-yong!

Ye-seh! Action already la...wanna act like Korean already la. wtf

So yesterday before I start my shift, I decided to pop by Abbey's to get my textbook and workbook. It costs me $90 :(

I better be able to win a debate in Korean after paying that much for a book wtf.

The books are just like those we used to have in Primary 1,2,3 and so forth. Practice writing and reading. Simple exercises.

*****

Last night, I finished work at 4am T__T

And my Monday starts at 8am. T_________________T

Obviously this week I decided to skip my 8am class and just attend ones from 12pm onwards.

We did a wedding for a Asian couple in Heritage Ballroom. The guests all hailed from KL, Malaysia and some from HK.

The bride - errrrr....ok la (very reluctant)
The groom - errrrrr.....no comment (being polite)

The bride wore super high heels and is like a foot taller than the groom. He is a bald guy with glasses and has the voice of Gilbert Godfried.

Ho-hum~~~

It was pretty easy actually. The guests were not rowdy, they drank mainly soft drinks. Not much wine either.

Alkis was super hilarious when he say 'Ou-kay, thang-kiu!' in that Asian accent!!

Ho-In, Ryan, Jenny and I were joking around at the BOH. Ho-In keeps on talking to me in Korean like I understand mahhh...

I call him 'si ba sey kia' the whole night.

After dinner, we had to set the HB for 250pax lunch and set Lvl 4. Easy peasy if it weren't for the fact that we have insufficient cutlery -_-''

Because we have another lunch for 890pax in GBR for the Australia Israel Commerce Chamber where Julia Gillard will be present along with all the other VIPs.

I had to go to Mosaic and beg for saucers and knives and all that shit. Mada-paker.

Don't even know why the sales dept agree to take the functions because they know we do not have enough cutlery for that many people.

And they also do not have enough staff to work as well.

Tiwa was asking all the people who N/A-ed if they can work. We were all like oh I have class and she asked if we can skip them -_-

Actually I would if I only have one class and it is Stats or Events. But today I have 3 classes so no. Education more important *sitayi*.

I was dozing off in class ok! Even though I went to school at 12pm, I still only have like 5 hrs of sleep because I went to bed like 5am.

Poor me :((

Ok. Imma practice my Korean now and crash at 8pm later. Toodles~~

iYiYiYiYiYiYi WTF

No idea if you guys have heard about this lil kid named Cody Simpson but he's supposedly the 2nd gen of Bieber-like 'idol'.

He's 12 and currently hails from Gold Coast. He did a song with Flo-rida and bla bla bla etc.

Anyway, today I was working in Frasers (!!!!)

That Shaaban bah! I already told him I quit right then he was like this weekend is my bday and my wife planned a surprise lunch already and I couldn't find anyone to work. Can you please just do this last shift??

Tiu! The worst thing is last night I did 13 hours in Westin and finished at 4am. And I start in Fraser at 8am.

When I was there, Preston told me this supposedly famous Aussie kid is currently staying in-house and every morning, his parents, him, his groupies wtf, his groupies' parents all come down to Mezzanine and create havoc.

They must have been like 20 of them. Jebus.

The mother came in and demanded us to do this do that like her kid is some superstar liddat. Wanna book the lounge area for a meeting or something. Fuck. It's an open and free lounge area. ANYONE can sit there. Just take your time. Eff.

Yalah, he collaborated with Flo-rida. So what. Bieber got Usher worrrrrr....

Yalah, he won the Nickelodeon Award last night. So what. Still lose to Justin Bieber what. Tiu.

And Preston also told me that when CD and his crew check in the hotel, his dad demanded there to be welcome cocktail and canapes to be served at 11.30pm!

However, when the hotel quoted them the price, they didn't want it coz it was too expensive.

I have nothing against Simpson but just that they came in at the wrong time.

Disclaimer: I do not like Bieber too.

*******

I had my first Korean class today and it was so much fun!!! I have already learnt half of the Korean ABC and can now read and write half of them too!!

Can you believe I met another Bruneian in my class?? He works in a bank here and hails from KB too :))

And there is another Sarawakian from Sibu who transferred to Sydney for his job.

And there are 2 guys who work in Star City. I didn't recognise them until they said so. Then I vaguely remembered one guy from my previous trip there.

Sigh....see. I learned so many things already :)

*cont*

I googled the shoes. And also found Ebay selling many many many pairs of these Lite Skimmer-s.

Unfortunately they do not ship international and they only have black and brown.

I found this picture of the shoes in white. And I have to say it is ugly as fuck.

It felt like Chung Hua Middle School all over again.

Meh.
